This is how it all began!

Originally a supplier of machinery accessories, the business was founded by Leif Nilsson in Karlstad as early as the 1970s.  In the mid-1980s, he began selling Rototilt products from Noreco, the name of the company that had started manufacturing Rototilt. Indexator acquired the manufacturing rights to Rototilt when Noreco went into administration in the early 1990s.

When Niklas and his father visited Leif in 2005 to have their RT60B from 1999 serviced, Leif began to mention that he would like to find someone to take over the business from him.  Niklas’s father said as they left, “That would be right up your street!” Niklas was just about to set up his own consultancy business. He was due to take up a post at Metso Paper in Karlstad as a pipework designer. So this business would be a complement to his consultancy work, a bit of a ‘hobby’.

After a few months of discussions during the autumn of 2005, they reached an agreement. In 2006, the workshop was built at Ängens Gård in northern Grums, which is now the company’s headquarters, and during the winter and spring of 2007, operations gradually began to get under way.

Our first Rotortilt was delivered in the spring of 2007 to Gunnar Arnesen in the Stockholm archipelago, and the second went to Sten & Vägarbeten in Karlstad, where it is still fitted to their 2002 Volvo EW160, which operates in Karlstad.

By June 2014, Maskintillbehör in Grums had grown into a full-time business for Niklas. He also has two full-time employees in the workshop, Henrik and Viktor. His wife Paula looks after the finances, with her sister Lotta lending a helping hand (Lotta works as a financial consultant). We also have a couple of great lads who step in on a self-employed basis from time to time when needed: Christoffer (Gutte) and Peter.

The plan is to try to develop the business further at its current location; our hope is that it’s the service we provide that matters, not the company’s location.
